Government School Adoption 2022

Science and its miracle are what IEEE is spreading across the world. Marking this noble cause, IEEE Bangalore section-driven school adoption program along with STEM Inspired School Series, many events were conducted across the state. IEEE NHCE SB, IEEE NITK SB, IEEE JNNCE SB, IEEE RVCE SB, IEEE VCET SB, IEEE PESCE Mandya, IEEE KLSGIT SB, IEEE JCE SB, IEEE SCE SB, IEEE SLN SB, IEEE Mangalore University SB, IEEE UVCE SB, and IEEE SIT SB have adopted schools and taken an active part in this inspiring movement.

IEEE Kristu Jayanti College  Student Branch conducted a Computer Literacy Programme for Siddhartha Srinivasa High School Students, in Kothanur. On 9th Sep 2022.

Science and its miracle are what IEEE is spreading across the world. Marking this noble cause, IEEE SIT SB was initiated to teach and guide the young minds of the nation through regular weekly teaching sessions at JNV-Tumkur. The session was targeted to young minds to have hands-on experience with their learning scientific aspects. JayakrishnanDivakaran, global sight leader, launched the session by addressing and motivating young minds regarding scientific beliefs and systematic approaches

Key Takeaways:

Students were taught for 2 days on weekends. Science’s origin and its dependencies spread its note to the mind of future makers. Identification and analysis of basic components along with their functionality made their theoretical skills stronger. Hands-on experience with basic circuits enhanced their curiosity about learning and improved their analytical skills.

IEEE RVCE has adopted a Rural high school, devanahalli and conducted Basic computer literacy between the 14th of April and the 16th of July.

IEEE VCET adopted Government Pre-University College (High School Section) and conducted an event on basic concepts of Networking and Website development with real-time examples for 9th and 10th students on 5th March 2022.  The faculties successfully inspired the students about how artful work can be done when they enter into engineering.

IEEE PESCE Mandya adopted Kalegowda higher primary school near PES College of Engineering, Mandya. They conducted a session on Aug 16th.  The session consisted of games, Science exploration, and other fun activities.

IEEE UVCE WIE conducted a School Adoption Programme intending to impart education to students thus taking part in a social cause. Students in grades 8th and 9th were the participants in this session.

The session was conducted in two parts.Firstly, a quick brush up on basic topics was done and the session was initiated by teaching the students spellings of words related to school and technical aspects, which was followed by them being tested on these spellings. The students bagging the highest score in this spelling test were awarded goodies.

In the second half, the session was made interactive by asking the students to come up with the meanings of homophones and to guess the difference in their spellings. Students who showed active participation were awarded chocolates.

An assignment was given to the students to find out homophones along with their meanings for the next session.

This educational event was concluded by students talking about their take away and feedback from this class. There was never a dull moment in this effervescent event with the students and we bid them with our hearts full.

Every citizen needs to take into account the pressing issue of sustainable development. By sharing the benefits—financial and sociological—with society, CSR operations are seen as a crucial part of how organizations handle the needs of communities and the environment.

There were roughly 75 students enrolled in the school, ranging in age from fourth to eighth grade. After a brief introduction, the officeholders and volunteers took the initiative to give these kids a day jam-packed with enjoyable activities that were intended to improve their practical and logical skills as well as their educational talents. Children were divided into groups, each of which had five volunteers caring for them, making the entire session quite engaging. Each group had 15 students and volunteers who could speak English, Hindi, and Kannada.

In the first exercise, kids were asked to list one item they would bring with them if they had to walk into the wilderness and survive there. The volunteers were able to get some quite imaginative answers to this question. The game continued by allowing the children to form groups depending on the supplies they selected to survive, honing their team-building abilities.

The kids played a delightful treasure hunt game after a brief break for refreshments.

An educational experiment on a volcano eruption was then conducted, and the supplies were provided for the school’s students to replicate what the IEEE volunteers had done.

Every student received some stationery and a school bag after the visit, and the volunteers made sure to engage in numerous conversations about the future with the young minds.

The agenda of the activity was to impart practical knowledge about teamwork to the students while honing their social and logical abilities through games and experiments and to ingrain in their young minds questions about the future concerning their careers and education.

The entire experience was highly rewarding for everyone involved, including the volunteers and office bearers who made sure the visit ran smoothly.

The experience and contributions of the students were appreciated by the Student Branch, which then decided to adopt the school and plan multiple activities and programs for them in the latter part of the year.

Glimpses: Today at 2 pm, SLN IEEE student branch STB99080 conducted a Student activity program on “ visualizing activities to improve Academic achievement” for Government school students, Yeramarus camp, Raichur.
