The IEEE Bangalore section conducted the forth IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Computing and Communication technologies (IEEE CONECCT 2018) on the 16th & 17th of March, 2018 at MSR Hotel and Resorts, Bangalore. This edition of IEEE CONECCT was chaired by Prof. Rudra Pratap, CeNSE, Indian Institute of Science.The Technical Program Committee (TPC) of IEEE CONECCT had arranged talks from some of the best groups and experts from both India and abroad. We received 215 research articles in total, out of which 40 most innovative research articles for oral presentation and 41 research articles for poster presentation were accepted. The papers presented in the conference revolved around research on the theme areas of the CONECCT 2018 which were:(a)Electron Devices and System,(b)Computer Science and Big Data,(c)Communication and (d)Networking, Cyber Physical Systems and IoT.
The conference’s keynote talk was delivered by Prof. Anurag Kumar, Director,Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India on “CPS over IoT: Technology, Research, Prospects”.
Besides that,CONECCT had four plenary talks, two of which were delivered on the first day by: Prof. K. V. S. Hari, formal chair,IEEE Bangalore section on “Emerging MIMO Wireless Communication Systems”and Dr. Sriram Raghavan, IBM Research on “AI meets IoT: Real world challenges and solutions”.
The second day saw talks by: Prof. V. R. Rao, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi on “Bottom-up meets top down: An Integrated Approach for Future High Performance CMOS & Sensor Technologies” and by Dr. Aloknath De, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, S.Korea on “How is Artificial Intelligence changing the Dynamics of IoT?”
More than 20 invited talks were delivered on the four themes of this edition,that is,Electron Devices and System, Computer Science and Big Data, Communication and Networking, Cyber Physical Systems and IoT.
The event saw an amazing turnout this year with more than 250 Research scholars, Industry Expertise, Scientists and Teachers from reputed institutes attending the IEEE CONECCT 2018 and sharing their experiences.Also,more than 100 participants were student IEEE members and senior IEEE members .
